History
Charlie Heath Sutton was born on March 15th, 1983 to the power hungry Patrick Sutton and his soft wife, Charlene Nelson Sutton. The first born, he was groomed to one day take over his father’s company and Charlene got little time to be with Charlie as Patrick forbid her to spoil him. What Patrick never knew was that Charlene used to read him fairytale stories late at night while Patrick was sleeping, she cared for Charlie too much to let him grow up to be the spitting image of Patrick. When Charlie was three years old his mother gave birth to his only sibling, Gillian Juliet Sutton. When Charlie was old enough for school, Patrick had him sent to a private school in Paris, France and insisted that he didn’t need to go to school in Stone Creek but needed a better education. Charlene was saddened when Patrick sent Gillian to the same private school three years later.

He spent most of his time studying in school, playing sports and while as a teenager he began dating a fellow outcast, Anne-Marie Verdon in 1998. She took his virginity in the confession room of a church and later taught Charlie how to spend his parents money without them noticing. Anne-Marie became a huge part of his life as he learned to cope with his father trying to mold his life out for him. The two discovered the nightlife with their friend Émile Goddard, and eventually came upon a drug named Velocity that his two friends became hooked on. Anne-Marie was able to manipulate Charlie into selling the drug with her to kids in their school. Before they knew it they were at the top of the food chain and everyone wanted the drug. Anne-Marie began pocketing a lot more than her take of the cash and Charlie wanted to know why. Eventually he found out that her family was broke and she was trying to make a living on the drug. In 2001 he asked Anne-Marie to marry him and leave the drug business, but she was angered that Charlie thought she needed him and broke things off, instead she began sleeping with Émile.

While wandering around Paris, he was able to rescue Kirsten Thurlow from Gavin Archambault when he tried to assault her after a date. The two began a summer romance in 2003 while she was in Paris, but after summer had ended, Kirsten headed back home to Stone Creek. Unknown to either of them, she had become pregnant with his child.

Charlie returned to Stone Creek in 2008 to help his father re-invent Sutton Enterprises and was surprised to see that Kirsten lived there as well. Even more surprised to learn that she was the daughter of James Thurlow, a man that his father had despised. Although Kirsten had been seeing a man named Kent Wallace, both Kirsten and Charlie couldn’t deny a pull they had towards one another. Kent saw this and told Charlie the truth; he had fathered Megan Wallace, not Kent. This changed everything for the couple but Charlie wanted nothing more than to be the little girl’s father and he married Kirsten in 2009. Their marriage caused much controversy and after purchasing the Lakeside Inn, his father cut Charlie out of the family and stripped him of his inheritance.

Start of the Series...

photo Charliev1.pngThe Lakeside Inn hosted the annual Founder’s Ball in 2010, and with his friends and family in attendance they got the shock of their lives when his younger sister, Gillian Sutton, returned to Stone Creek on the arm of a much older man, Damien Crenshaw. Not only was Charlie trying to convince his wife to not pursue confronting his father about seeing Megan, but they also had to deal with wether Gillian was being manipulated by Damien or not. Gillian would eventually choose to stay by Damien’s side, but Charlie allowed her to see Megan. When Adrian Stone returned to town, Charlie was faced with the fact that Adrian was Kirsten’s first boyfriend and became jealous of the man. Although she professed her love for Charlie, it was her want to be close friends to Adrian that drove Charlie crazy.

After Kirsten’s aunt Shannon Thurlow Jurado died in a car accident, he joined Kirsten and her family in Paris, France, where the two reignited the flame and remembered where they had first met. He stood by her side and comforted her throughout the ordeal. They both became close to Kirsten’s cousin, Aidan Jurado and when it was confirmed that he wouldn’t be able to continue living in Paris, they invited him to Stone Creek and eventually, Charlie hired him at the Lakeside Inn. Charlie would eventually help push Aidan into a love triangle between Amanda Tucker and Taylor Kern and with Kirsten’s help they counseled Aidan on separate occasions.

In late 2011, Charlie and his family found his mother sprawled out on the floor of the Holly Oak Manor on Christmas Eve, and although she survived, the following year they had to help their daughter cope with what she saw. Charlie and Kirsten welcomed his mother into their home so she could recover far away from Patrick. Without his father’s help, 2012 saw the rise of the Lakeside Inn as more town events began to be held in it’s walls.
