History
Ryan Bauer moved to Stone Creek when his old summer camp friends invited him to share an apartment with them. Although Bentley Wilkinson had always been one of his best friends, it was his older sister, Greta Wilkinson, that Ryan bonded with in 2006. They developed feelings for one another and started dating briefly behind Bentley’s back. Their relationship was found out by Bentley who seemed more ticked off that they had lied to him. In late 2006 things ended between the two when they realized both wanted different things and although they still had feelings for one another, they remained friends and roommates.

While working as a waiter at Gladys’ Bistro, Ryan ran into and started talking to Marina Thurlow. They started to hang out after his shifts. In 2008 they began dating and while it appeared that their relationship was solid when Natalie Marlowe moved into Stone Creek she began to pursue Ryan heavily. Ryan never looked at Natalie in a more than friends way so he tended to ignore the drama between the two women. After losing his job and the animosity surrounding his focus to the future that caused friction between himself and Marina.

Start of the Series...

In 2010 things came to a head for the couple of Ryan and Marina as he struggled with finding a job and Marina struggled with him being jobless. With the help of Natalie Marlowe, Ryan snagged himself a job at the Stone Creek Gym as a Janitor, working for her secret half-brother, Ian Kiefer. Neither man hit-it-off while Ryan didn’t like that way Ian treated him and Ian couldn’t understand his half-sister’s infatuation with the other man. Their rivalry was short lived, however, when it was revealed by Natalie that Marina had been secretly seeing Ian Kiefer after run-in at the Candle Lit City Park after her morning jog one day. Devastated, Ryan broke-up with Marina and punched Ian. With neither a girlfriend or a job, Ryan Bauer left Stone Creek.

While in New York City, Ryan was able to gain a more cunning outlook at life and was taught to take what he wanted out of life. He became a Campaign Manager for a ruthless business man when an idea he had caught the man’s eye. Together they started to take over New York until Ryan realized he wasn’t happy and wanted to return to Marina Thurlow in Stone Creek. In 2011 he returned to town and was hired by Patrick Sutton to run his campaign for Mayor of Stone Creek, he was up against Jared Marlowe. Now devious and quick on his feet he made sure that Ian was intimidated with him and began to befriend Marina once again, noting how much he missed having her around. After encouraging Marina to write an article for Jared Marlowe’s campaign, he began to decimate her relationship with Ian. Marina came to her senses about the article and opted not to write it but Ryan knew his campaign was in jeopardy if the article didn't get published and went behind her back to put it on her editor's desk. The article was published and it brought to light Jared’s affair that produced Ian Kiefer. Jared withdrew from the race and skipped town, angering both Natalie and Ian. Ryan took up residence with Natalie and began to court her, just to get under Ian’s skin. Since Natalie was still obsessed with Ryan, it was an easy plan and he continued to dangle her around. Marina and Ian got back together. So Ryan focused on the campaign, especially when Damien Crenshaw entered the race.

photo Ryanv1.pngIn December of that year, he admitted to Natalie that he was falling for her and asked her out. This caused a jealous Marina Thurlow to admit her feelings  for him after he delivered a Christmas present to her, reminding Marina of their first date.

After the shootings at the New Years Eve Ball, Ryan finally came back to Stone Creek for a Holiday Trip with Natalie Marlowe. He went to Greta’s side and apologized for not being by her side after Miles was shot and proceeded to slip into a coma. Greta accepted his apology and their friendship reformed. Natalie asked Ryan to move in with her after her roommate Amanda debated moving out with her boyfriend. When Ryan told Natalie that he thought they were moving too fast, Natalie broke down and admitted that everyone was moving away from her and she felt alone. Ryan would later find himself reconnecting with Marina at the Cuttlebone Lake Pier and although he leaned in to kiss her, it was Marina who kissed him back. He continued to interfere in her relationship with Ian until the night of the black out when Ryan found himself stuck in an elevator with Marina. Once he knew for sure that he had leverage to break Marina and Ian up for good, Ryan used it against Ian.

When Helen Schmidt witnessed Damien Crenshaw and Clifton Briggs fighting about something important, it was Ryan who approached Clifton with a deal to work with Patrick Sutton or go down with Damien’s sinking ship. Although it was a bluff Ryan felt that it was effective enough.

In late 2012, Ryan and Marina rekindled their relationship and started dating once again.
