History
The middle child of James and Helen Thurlow, he was born on June 11th, 1986. He grew up as the mediator between his sisters, Kirsten and Marina Thurlow. Emmet Jordan Thurlow was born with a slightly goofy attitude towards life and even though his family was so against Helen after her affair with Dr. David Schmidt, Emmet stood by his mother’s side until he found out about how selfish she was with her sister’s lives.
Having spent most of his time in High School on the football team, Emmet was faced with social dilemma’s such as losing his virginity and balancing out his social life and workload. When he thought he would miss out on his chance at Harvard Law School, Emmet quit the football team and decided to pursue his studying. This, of course, put Emmet in the middle of a lot of bullying from his peers and it all boiled up inside of him until he had his interview for college. The stress caused him to lose his chance at Harvard. With the help of his sisters, Emmet was encouraged to apply for other colleges around the area and ended up being accepted to Cambridge College in 2003. After studying to get his Bachelor’s degree, Emmet would later move on to Harvard Law School.
In 2008, while he was first starting off at his father’s company, Emmet inadvertently helped a young teacher named Iris Galloway while she, along with a couple of her colleagues, fought for injustice at a local school in Sunset Valley. Emmet settled in the neighboring town of Sunset Valley and worked up the courage to ask her out on a date. But Emmet was nervous because while he was off putting his all into his schooling, he had never lost his virginity -- let alone went on a date with one. The two developed a close friendship that eventually blossomed into a relationship and he eventually lost his virginity to Iris.
Start of the Series...
While visiting his family in Stone Creek, Emmet admitted her wanted to propose to Iris in 2010. Emmet finally worked up the courage to propose to Iris at the Founder’s Ball but got rejected when she wasn’t sure of their commitment to one another. Iris stated it was a mistake for her to visit Stone Creek with him. It wasn’t until 2011 that any progress on their relationship was made, as he revealed before he left for Paris, France, to pay respects to his recently deceased aunt, Shannon Jurado, that he had proposed to Iris once again and she agreed to marry him.
It seemed the relationship was going in the right direction when the couple revealed they were to move to Stone Creek in late 2011. At first, Iris was terrified of leaving the place she called home, but Emmet stood by her side. Slowly Emmet began to get pulled into the drama’s of work when his father informed Emmet that Frank Nelson had gone missing and they needed to find him without alerting the man’s wife, Deborah Nelson. James had his suspicions that Lucy Hahn had kidnapped Frank and because of Iris’ closeness to the woman, she was put on the hot seat. Emmet stood by her side until it was revealed, by Caitlyn Thurlow, that Iris had made a secret phone call to Lucy. When Iris admitted the truth, Emmet felt betrayed by her and shunned Iris. He left for Germany to help Chief Gideon Wilkinson locate Frank and Lucy. Gideon explained to Emmet that he shouldn’t treat Iris like she was the enemy and give her a chance to explain herself. They arrived back in Stone Creek with Frank in tow, but revealed that Lucy had fled with Sebastian before they were able to locate the man.
They spent 2012 trying to find comfortability in their relationship, after the stunt with Lucy, however, Iris was fired from her job and insisted she’d rather go live with her absent family. Emmet explained that he wanted her to stay in Stone Creek and she did so.
