History
Not much is known about Damien Crenshaw’s childhood except the fact that he met his future ex. wife -- Caitlyn Lavern, while they entered Freshmen Year of High School. Coming from a semi-rich family, Damien learned how to charm women at a very young age but chose his relationship with Caitlyn over many of the girls who threw themselves at him. He turned down a football scholarship and moved to Subtle Valley, Illinois with his girlfriend. Although they both attended College, Damien was the only one who graduated. They would soon welcome a baby girl into their lives, Caitlyn gave birth to Danielle Evelyn Crenshaw, later Damien asked Caitlyn to be his wife and they were married in 1991.
Married life would prove a challenge as Damien had lost most of his connections through his family after he turned down the football scholarship. Taking care of a baby girl also put a strain on their relationship and the stay-at-home mother constantly took a verbal beating from the college graduate. Eventually Caitlyn helped to bring money into the home so they could live the luxurious life that Damien was used to. Both of their lives changed for the worse when Damien took Danielle and sold her to a new family -- convincing Caitlyn that the little girl had died in a freak accident. This would destroy their marriage and after nine years, Caitlyn filed for divorce and left her High School Sweetheart for a life back home in Chicago.
Damien’s life was plunged into darkness after the failed marriage, keeping to himself and moving around constantly he got into a couple seedy ventures that brought him profit and respect. It wasn’t until late 2008 in Paris did his life start to draw him back to Caitlyn. He met a young and vivacious Gillian Sutton and the two began a steamy romance, traveling around the globe. When Damien finally tracked down his ex. wife he secured the means to seek her out, but upon the mention of Stone Creek, Gillian revealed her connection to the city. They bickered on wether Gillian should go with him and he eventually gave in and allowed her to accompany him to find Caitlyn.
Start of the Series...
At the Founder’s Ball in 2010, Damien Crenshaw showed up with his new younger fiancée on his arm -- which ruffled more than a few feathers, including: Caitlyn, her new husband James Thurlow, Gillian’s parents -- Patrick and Charlene Sutton, and chief of police Gideon Wilkinson. It was evident that the new couple’s appearance in Stone Creek wouldn’t be a smooth one and while Patrick tried to weasel his daughter away from Damien, Caitlyn’s clan tried to keep her ex. husband at arms length. Although Damien often made it difficult, tormenting Caitlyn and the ones she loved. He revealed the truth about Danielle to a skeptical Caitlyn, eventually setting in-motion a series of events that would umbrella out to involve Patrick Sutton and a young waitress named Abigail Jenkins. But when it was finally revealed that Abigail Jenkins really wasn’t ‘Danielle’ after it was initiated that she was, everyone targeted Damien once again as a rightful villain. Caitlyn lashed out at Damien while Gillian defended her husband even if she felt like he betrayed her trust.
Damien became ruthless when it involved Patrick Sutton and even tried to bully him out of shares of Sutton Enterprises, which Patrick didn’t budge on. He also emotionally reminded Caitlyn of the man she had once been married too and forged a wedged between herself and James, but the ruse didn’t have much affect when Caitlyn placed a restraining order against him much to James’ urging. When word got around that Patrick was a sure bet for replacing Jared Marlowe as Mayor of Stone Creek, Damien felt it was his duty to snag the position away from him. Although he insisted to Gillian that he would play fair -- Damien enlisted the help of Clifton Briggs to rig the votes in his favor in exchange for a deal that would give Clifton the rights to move his nightclub to ‘Now Town’. Damien also once planned a corporate takeover of Sutton Enterprises, but once Gillian got wind of his plan, she secured the shares she had needed and revealed at the beginning of 2012 that she was now in power.
In 2012 he felt on top of the world as he managed Stone Creek as it’s new Mayor and married Gillian Sutton in a quick courthouse wedding. They were now the new power couple in Stone Creek. Although they defended one another to everyone else, neither spent much time together as they tried to focus on their new jobs on top of the city. Damien spent a lot of time trying to hold Clifton and his threats at bay when he decided not to follow through with their deal. While Gillian spent many nights at SE as the new CEO. When Greta Wilkinson went missing, he along with his new wife took the media into their hands and broadcasted a search for her in hopes they could sway the citizens in their favor. Although it didn’t work on a select few -- Greta was found and returned to her family.
