History
Born into the shamed Nelson family, Franklin Elijah Nelson, Jr. was born on April 22nd, 1962. While his mother, Mary Jo Nelson, was a constant optimist it was his father, Franklin Nelson, that instilled an outsider complex in young Frank. As a child he was constantly told the stories of his ancestors and how they once held all the power in Stone Creek. His only sibling, Charlene Marie Nelson, was born in February of 1963 and he grew protective of her wellbeing. Even though Charlene became a rebel without a cause, Frank tried to be more level-headed and worked up schemes to get their family’s money back which caused him become more of a wallflower at school, unlike his promiscuous sister.

He later went off to college and their parents sold the house to pay for his schooling. This was the only time that Frank felt loved by his alcoholic father. But would soon realize that Franklin only looked at his son as a future cash-cow and this caused Frank to easily sever ties with his family. While attending college, Frank was able to find success in a couple of schemes to get quick money and although he basked in his new found riches, it was his brains that caught the eye of Deborah Faulkner, a Psychology Student.

They finished school in 1984, got married and began to settle into Cuttlebone City when he got the call that his father had suffered a heart attack. There was a part of Frank that wanted to ignore the death of Franklin because of the awful way the man treated him. But Deborah convinced him that he needed to make peace with his father so the two of them travelled to Stone Creek for the funeral. They would later choose to reside there in 1986.

A much pregnant Deborah gave birth to their only daughter, Laurie Jolene Nelson, on Frank’s birthday of 1986. While Deborah went on to get her Masters in Psychology, Frank took it upon himself to join the workforce and was hired at Thurlow Lumber Mill Enterprises as a Financial Assistant. They had two more children, two boys; Kyle Nelson in 1988 and Davis Nelson in 1994.

Frank would later go on to get a promotion to CFO and helped his newest friends, James Thurlow and Caitlyn Lavern get together. He finally found a place in Stone Creek to call his own and treated his children with pride in hopes that they would go on and find wealth for themselves. Although his marriage to Deborah would suffer as the years grew, they stood by one another. While still in High School, his daughter Laurie began to fend for herself and got a job as a Desk Clerk at the Police Station, later she would graduate to become a Police Officer and soon Laurie was moving to Oregon with her High School boyfriend, Michael Jonas.

Start of the Series...

photo Frankv1.pngTheir son Kyle soon relocated as well after High School so that he could attend college. In 2009 he began an affair with his secretary, Lucy Hahn. Their affair became a constant in his life and he often started arguments with his wife, Deborah. These fights had interrupted their youngest son’s school life and once it became apparent that Davis wasn’t doing well in Stone Creek High, he asked to go live with his sister, Laurie. This broke Deborah’s heart as all her children had left Stone Creek behind. Frank continued his affair until Kevin Saunders found out about it and threatened to reveal the truth. This sent Frank in a panic and he ended the affair. With James Thurlow’s help, he got Lucy a promotion and sent her to live in Sunset Valley to work at the Sunset Valley Division. Feeling guilty for his affair, Frank let Deborah pick his next secretary and was surprised when she chose the young Isobel Cortez.

They spent the beginning of 2011 fighting, both trying to manipulate the other into confessing their love. During the late winter storm an accident that impact the families of their friends helped them realize how short life was and momentarily seized their feud with one another. Deborah even tried to seduce her husband in his office at work in order to re-ignite their sex life. By mid 2011 they had finally settled on seeing their children for the holidays and after a couple setbacks they were able to leave Stone Creek for Oregon during the holidays. While at the airport, however, Frank caught a glimpse of Lucy Hahn with a child in her arms and was sent into a tailspin. He asked his good friend James Thurlow to look into Lucy’s whereabouts while he was with Deborah and their children.

In early 2012, the couple came back to Stone Creek after their stay in Oregon. Feeling her marriage revitalized, Deborah Nelson went on with her daily life. But Frank was too stressed out to think about the time he spent with his family. With the help of James he had learned that Lucy had stopped working at the Sunset Valley Division. His life would get a blow when he found Deborah at home looking at a picture of a baby boy that was sent directly to her. Frank would later received a letter stating that Lucy had fled Cuttlebone County and left for Germany with her son. Their marriage was again on faulty grounds, Deborah wanted nothing to do with her husband, while he wanted to try and work everything out. But during the blackout -- under the impression that Deborah wanted to work things out -- Frank went to the Thurlow Cabin and was held against his will by Lucy.

For weeks nobody knew where he was. Lucy tried to get Frank to admit that he still cared for her and even bribed him with their son, Sebastian. But he never faltered from his love for Deborah and although Lucy kidnapped Frank and took him to Germany with her, she finally gave up and left him stranded in a hotel room where Gideon Wilkinson, Emmet Thurlow and Iris Galloway rescued him. Throughout the whole ordeal, Deborah was under the impression -- because of James Thurlow -- that Frank was in Paris trying to settle some debts made by Thurlow-Jurado Overseas. Once informed of this, Frank decided to keep his kidnapping a secret so that he could move forward with his life and try to rekindle his marriage.

Deborah found out the truth after confronting Caitlyn Thurlow at her home, fed-up with Frank’s lies she gave her husband one last chance to tell her the complete truth and he decided to start at the beginning, in 2009.
