History
On September 12th, 1986 Gillian Juliet Sutton was born to Patrick Sutton and his new wife, Charlene Sutton. Her middle name was given to her because of her mother’s fascination with the Romeo & Juliet story and one day, hoped for her daughter to find true love. From a very early age she had become her father’s favorite child and was often seen by his side while Charlie was off at boarding school. Finally once she was ten, Gillian, herself was sent to a boarding school overseas where she would continue to write home to her father.
While attending boarding school she met a guy named Lief Jordan who captivated the same fascination that Gillian had for adventure and intrigue. The two would begin spending a lot more time together; skipping class and taking trips to explore their surroundings. In 2001, the two ended up having sex. Later, she would reveal to Lief that it was her first time even though she had led him to believe that she was already experienced like he was. Because Lief was a part of a very powerful family he had a reputation and a path to follow and since both began to skip school, he was transferred out to another school. This devastated Gillian who had already become attached to the young man. After Lief stopped sending her letters, Gillian Sutton took it upon herself to go visit him and found him with another girl. This ended their early relationship.
Gillian spent the next couple of years taking her studies around the world, she roughly graduated High School in 2005 and cut all ties from her family. In the Summer of 2005 -- while she was in the Caribbean -- she ran into Lief once again and they re-connected. But when the Summer was over, Lief had left her once again and later married a woman named Heather Marjorie to link the two families. Gillian was devastated and swore off all intentions of falling in love. This began her journey in using men for sex, power and money. While saving up her allowance that she received from her father, Gillian would use the money these men she dated showered her in. Her life was becoming a fairytale that she was able to buy.
During a trip back to Paris, France, Gillian ran into a man named Damien Crenshaw and became intrigued with his story of losing the love of his life and rebuilding his life. His knowledge of travel ignited a fire in Gillian and the two spent most of 2009 together while she started to fall for him. It wasn’t until Damien let on about a business trip in Stone Creek did they realize they had a deeper connection. Gillian insisted that she went with him, but Damien didn’t want her to. Stubborn Gillian got her way and both took a plane back to Stone Creek together.
Start of the Series...
At the Founder’s Ball in 2010 Gillian surprised her family when she arrived on the arm of Damien Crenshaw, a man that nobody knew -- except for Caitlyn Thurlow. Problems arose right away with her father threatening Damien. But Gillian was ready to fight for her relationship and continued to stay by Damien’s side. She would eventually get cut-off from her father’s money and move into the Old Granger Manor with Damien, himself. Gillian developed a friendship with Abigail Jenkins and even found herself bonding with her brother, Charlie Sutton, over their father’s demanding ways. When everyone thought Abigail was Danielle Crenshaw; the daughter of Damien and Caitlyn, it was Gillian who urged her to reach out to both her parents.
In February of 2011, Penelope Wilkinson’s car drove into a bar in which Gillian -- and many others -- were in. Although she would survive, she was in critical condition and comforted by her fiance, Damien. That same year came the truth of Abigail’s paternity and once they found out she wasn’t really Danielle, Abigail skipped town, leaving Gillian without any friends. She became enraged at her father for planting the evidence of Abigail being Danielle. But was also put off that Damien seemed to know a lot more than he was letting her know. Gillian was constantly pitting between the two men and after a series of events she concluded that she needed to take matters into her hands. With the money she had saved up, from both her father and other men, she started her corporate take over of Sutton Enterprises. After Damien’s campaign for Mayor ended up with him getting more votes than Gillian’s father, Patrick, in late 2011; Gillian revealed that she would be the new CEO of Sutton Enterprises in early 2012. She informed her father that it was for the best of the family. Married now to Damien Crenshaw, Gillian insisted that she took over Sutton Enterprises to prove to everyone that she wasn’t weak like her mother. Gillian went on to tell her father that Damien had tried to steal the company from him and found it upon herself to take it.
In 2013, Gillian made the choice to ask her aunt, Kimberly Sutton, to come aboard Sutton Enterprises as a consultant -- much to her father’s dismay.
