Scene One:
341 Wallow St., Stone Creek. [Schmidt Home]
David & Helen’s Home.
Helen Schmidt holds the long menthol in her skinny pedicured right hand as she looks out at the sunrise. It was a glorious day out and for the most part, she would rather be out in it than here with her husband keeping the awkward silence between them company.
She spun around and looked at Dr. David Schmidt as he sat at the small Kitchen table and sipped his coffee, the Ledger in his other hand. He was reading the paper as quietly as Helen was admiring how natural their unnaturalness had become. The woman took a long drag from her cigarette.
“That’s going to kill you.” David snipped, not even bothering looking up from his paper.
The woman rolled her eyes. “It’s your fault. I hope you’re happy, David.”
David dropped the paper to the table and looked at his wife. “Should I just go finish my breakfast at the Dining Room table and leave you alone to wallow in your own self-pity Helen? You're telling me that you picking up an old habit is my fault? That’s rich.”
“What do we do now?” Helen barked, she tapped the cigarette into the sink. “You’re divorcing me David and you won’t even let me state my case. Of course I’m smoking because of you. Do you not understand how hard this is on me? What am I supposed to do David?”
He sighed, there was something so helpless about Helen today, he had thought. Then he smirked, it was something he hadn’t seen in awhile. So instead of extending the olive branch, David picked the Ledger back up and continued reading. “We need to discuss the house.”
“Don’t change the subject on me.”
“I’m not,” He spoke with such gratitude. “I want the house Helen, it is mine after all. Maybe you should stop bitching about how awkward it is in here and pick-up the hint. There’s nothing keeping you here in this house after I divorce you Helen. Maybe you should start looking for a new place.”
She chuckled. “You’re not kicking me out.”
David folded the paper and looked at Helen, who was glaring at him with contempt. “You can go ahead and tell all your little friends that I’m a big bad man Helen, my reputation was tarnished the second I married you. But this has got to stop. We’re not who we used to be.”
“So this is real?” Helen sighed, glossy-eyed. She ignored the cigarette that was slowly burning between her fingers and fixed her attention to David Schmidt, the man who was her husband for thirteen years. “I can’t let you take the house David, that’s just something I won’t allow.”
He gathered his things and looked at her distorted. “Then you can hear from my lawyer soon.”
Helen’s shoulders fell once he was out of the room. The pain in her heart was out-lived by the burning sensation between her fingers and she cursed when she realized the cigarette was still lit. Dropping it into the sink she ran the warm water before drying her hands and finding her cell phone.
If it was a war that David wanted, she needed assistance. So Helen called the only person she knew could help her. Even though she knew his presence in town would cause trouble for others.

Scene Two:
Stone Creek; Now Town
813 Crystal Hill St., Stone Creek. [Bayou Oaks Condos #21]
“This is it?” Aidan Jurado asked as he walked into the Condo that Greta Wilkinson wanted to show him. After asking her to find him a place of his own, Aidan was starting to have regrets that he asked Greta when she was mourning her fiance, Miles.
But he knew how much she needed the distraction and remembered that by asking her to help him find a new apartment he would be helping Greta’s business as well. He walked around the room, it was spacious and clean. The view from the Living Room was enough to take the place.
Greta walked in behind him. “Just imagine it with you living here, maybe a girlfriend?”
He smiled at her sudden mention of a woman. Aidan closed his eyes to imagine himself here with Amanda Tucker early in the morning after having a night of sex. The smell of sex in the air as the sun rose, her gorgeous face laying next to him.
Looking into Amanda’s eyes, he could see them living in the Condo. It was as if they never had to leave each other, everything they needed was there. He watched as Amanda lifted herself up from the bed. “I’ve got to take a shower, Aidan.”
“You don’t.” He said, grabbing her hand.
“Stay here, model for me. You don’t have to go to HEAT Headquarters, just stay here and drop out of your underwear and I’ll help you.” He kissed up her arm once more before she giggled and turned away, pulling on one of his button-up shirts.
Aidan watched as she tip-toed into the bathroom and he could hear the faint sound of the water turning on. The image of the crystal clear water hitting Amanda’s body as she washed last night off her body turned Aidan on, so he tossed the sheets off his naked body and walked into the bathroom.
“Amanda, at least let me join you.”
He could see the outline of her body through the frosted glass, the heat from the shower quickly filling the room and he could feel the sweat start to fall off his body, a smirk appearing on his body as he opened the glass doors and reached for Amanda.
But instead it was Taylor Kern.
The man turned around and looked at Aidan. “Hey.”
“Hey, Aidan.” Greta Wilkinson spoke as she shattered his thoughts.
Aidan shuddered, he turned to Greta with a confused smile. He had been thinking about Amanda Tucker but Taylor once again clouded his mind. It had started to happen even more frequently and at times when he would lie in bed with Amanda, he would wonder how Taylor would feel next to him.
“I’ll take it.” Aidan replied, looking around the Condo with a heavy sigh. “I’ll take it.”

Scene Three:
Stone Creek; Now Town
Stone Creek Veterinarian Hospital
The look on Ian Kiefer’s face when Ryan Bauer walked into the building was enough to make Ryan die happy. But there was still so much more to live for, especially the current confrontation. After his kiss with Marina Thurlow, Ryan had wanted to rub it in Ian’s face.
But he knew that if he told Ian about the kiss, Marina would never forgive him.
“What are you doing here Ryan?” Ian asked, he stepped away from the front desk and walked up to the man. There wasn’t really anybody in the lounge so it was easy to keep their distance and not alarm anyone. He tilted his head. “You’ve got a sick dog or something?”
Ryan smirked. “Did she tell you yet?”
“Tell me what?” Ian eyed.
“About that cute little puppy dog that her over-sized pet bought her.” Ryan described, he placed his hands in his pockets and smugly looked at Ian. “You know, the one that she gave away and lied to you about.” A chuckle from Ryan was enough to get under Ian’s skin.
Ian gulped. “She told you about that?”
“Weeks ago.” He could sense the anger building up inside of Ian. “Marina didn’t know how to tell you, she thinks of you as some fragile mess Kiefer. Looking at you I can clearly see why, do you even know how to throw-”
In a split second, all Ryan could see was Ian pull his fist back and plunged it forward into Ryan’s face and sending him backwards. Although he was shocked, it was exactly what Ryan had wanted him to do, to show such a rabid uncontrollable sap that Ian was.
He licked his bloody lip and smirked. “Someone’s a little antsy today.”
“Stay out of my life!” Ian spat.
Ryan nodded. “Oh, trust me. Once I get Marina back Kiefer, we will both stay out of your life. I will get Marina back, by the way, I always get what I want. So go ahead, play house with her for now. But just remember, Marina doesn’t want to be someone’s housewife.”
Ian watched as Ryan tended to his face. “Marina wants someone who can take control, she likes an adrenaline rush and spontaneity.”
“Stay away from Marina.” Ian gritted, he could feel Ryan step closer to him.
“How about we let Marina decide.” Ryan snipped, he stood an inch from Ian’s face, taunting him to throw another punch. But Ian didn’t, instead he stepped down and turned away from Ryan. Letting the man walk himself out the door and away from the Clinic.
Scene Four:
2634 W. Parker St., Stone Creek. Callahan Condo’s #15
Marina, Cassie & Lucian’s Condo
Caitlyn Thurlow handed Cassie Lakhani a cup of Hot Tea as she sat across from her at the Dining Room table. She looked at Cassie sympathetically and then looked at baby Lucian who was in Cassie’s lap. “If you need anything else, don’t be afraid to ask us.”
“I think I’ve taken so much from your family already.” Cassie admitted.
“We are all family.” Kirsten Sutton spoke, nudging Cassie’s shoulder. She was lucky enough to get a smile from Cassie as the woman found herself lost in her own thoughts. Kirsten walked into the Kitchen and began making lunch for everyone.
Her younger sister, Marina sitting on the counter.
“I’m just glad that we could all get together for lunch.” Caitlyn spoke, she watched Megan Sutton in the Living Room watching TV. “Having all of us in one home for a couple hours is refreshing.”
“Thanks for coming over.”
With the windows open, it was finally clear that the February chill had left town and been replaced with the cloud covered March sun. Maybe that was the reason why the women had gathered together, not knowing that they needed each other today.
Either way, Caitlyn woke up early and got Megan Sutton dressed so that she could spend the day with her mother, Kirsten. Although the three of them were to hang out, it was Marina’s idea that they join her and Cassie at the Condo for lunch.
Marina sighed as she watched her sister cook, helping out every now and then but she never caught the cooking gene like Kirsten had. So Marina was limited to cutting vegetables and boiling water.
“I’m not pressing charges.” Cassie Lakhani spoke.
Caitlyn looked at the younger woman stunned.
“What are you talking about?” Marina asked, hoping off the counter and standing near Cassie.
Kirsten wiped her hands. “Honey, I don’t want to be the one with bad news, but Callum tried to kill Miles Fowler and he nearly killed you as well. There’s a part of you that you can never get back because of that man. You can’t just not press charges.”
“He’s my brother.” After Cassie spoke, she could feel Caitlyn’s hand holding hers.
The other two women lingered around for a minute before Kirsten returned to the Kitchen to finish lunch. The youngest Thurlow looked at Cassie. “You need to think about what you’re doing Cass, this could jeopardize your reputation in court.”
“Gideon said Callum could be looking at murder charges.”
“Which is why I need to protect him!” Cassie snapped, she looked at the two women in the Dining Room. Trying to regain her composure, she looked at the baby in her lap. “I might not be able to have children anymore, I understand what Callum put me through. But Marina, I can’t do this.”
Marina paced around the room, disturbed.
“Just think about what you’re doing first.” Cassie turned her attention to Caitlyn Thurlow. “Cassie, you have to think it through before you make a final decision. You not pressing charges doesn’t free Callum from jail. There's other charges against him-”
“I have to fight for him, he needs me.” In that moment, the February chill was back and all the women could feel it in the Condo.

Scene Five:
420 N. Dayton St., Stone Creek. [Saunders Home]
Adrian, Gail & Violet’s Home
Gail Schmidt placed her daughter, Violet in David Schmidt’s arms.
To have her father around on his day off made Gail feel like her family was whole once again. It had been awhile since she was able to feel secure. Ever since her last couple stints in the hospital, it was nice just to have a normal bed to sleep in at night.
Although Gail hadn't done too much sleeping with Violet in the same room.
“You’re going to have to let me take her sometimes, it would do Violet some good to be with her grandfather.” David chimed, hinting to his daughter that she could use the rest as well. Her eyes were sunken with exhaustion. But he knew Gail couldn’t let Violet out of her sight.
Not yet.
David looked at Gail. “As you know, Helen and I are finally getting the divorce.”
“I can’t say I’m not happy.” Gail admitted, although cold to anything Helen related, she still cared a lot for her father’s happiness. “But, I know how much you loved Helen and I have to ask dad if this is the right decision to make for yourself?”
He nodded.
The sound of Violet cackling at her grandfather’s fingers as they tickled her growing belly was enough to keep Gail satisfied with her distance from Violet. “Well then daddy, I’m happy for you.”
“It’s time to move this family forward.”
Gail thought about all the times she found herself without her father in her life. How she left town for ten years with Adrian Stone by her side, how she didn’t even call David to check-in. But she was now glad to be home and although she was met with some speed bumps--mostly because of Helen--there was no other place Gail wanted to be.
“I like the sound of moving us forward.”
A smile evaded Gail’s otherwise worrisome face and it brought a bigger smile to David’s as well.

Scene Six:
Stone Creek; Now Town
HEAT Magazine Headquarters; 2nd Floor
Looking down at her phone as she walked through the halls, Natalie Marlowe cursed when she realized that Ryan Bauer hadn’t texted her yet. Never one to fret too much, being in a relationship with Ryan had felt like he was away at war for days at a time.
She tossed the phone into her purse and looked at the note that was handed to her earlier, it clearly stated that the photo shoot she was supposed to shadow was changed to the 2nd floor. Natalie knew that sounded odd, she had never had a photo shoot changed on her like that. But she didn’t give it too much thought.
Her mind was worrying about where Ryan had been.
Once she got to the 2nd Floor, there was nobody around. So she sighed heavily, followed the directions and entered the room where they told her to be. After her incident with Oliver Cuthbert outside the building, Natalie had spent most of the time following instructions and learning the different camera angles and filters.
It had been such a bore to her, but if it meant that she could get closer to her career goal then she would do it. There was a time when she wanted only to be a model, but that was before the accident that burned her face. Somedays she had forgotten about her scars all together.
Natalie even let Amanda purchase a mirror for their Living Room.
She flipped the lights on and dropped her purse, stunned.
What was supposed to be a photo shoot seemed like a circus. The room was full of mirrors, different shapes and sizes and although she had finally gotten over her fear of mirrors, there was one with a note on it and she couldn’t stop herself from stepping closer to read it: Don’t you think he wants someone that isn’t scarred?
Natalie felt tears stream down her cheeks as she ripped the paper up. Who would do this to her? Why would anybody try to destroy her self-esteem?
Looking up at the mirror in front of her, all Natalie could see were her scars. The ones that she had tried to hide from the world, but couldn’t. The ones that got her contract with Heat Magazine shredded. She curled her fists into tiny balls as her blood pressure rose.
The scars that Natalie tried to cope with had finally caused her to snap and she put a fist through the glass, screaming out in pain Natalie turned around and saw the scars in the other mirrors. Running to the entrance of the room, Natalie grabbed her purse and tossed it, shattering another mirror.
Heaving in anger, she collapsed onto the floor.

Scene Seven:
Stone Creek; Now Town
Stone Creek Veterinarian Hospital
“Don’t worry Mrs. Foster, we will take care of Jinx.” Ian Kiefer insisted as the older woman rattled on about the cat’s symptoms. Marina Thurlow watched from the doors as he instructed the woman to come back in a couple hours to pick Jinx up.
She caught his eye as Mrs. Foster left the Clinic. “I thought I’d come by with some lunch. Kirsten and Caitlyn came by the Condo earlier and we decided to cook lunch together. Well, it was mostly Kirsten cooking and I just watched.” Marina handed Ian the bag.
“Marina.”
Ian sighed, placing the bag on the counter he took her hands in his. “There’s something that we need to talk about.”
“About the fight we had the other day, it’s nothing. I’m completely over it and I’m sorry that I lied to you about the puppy.” She broke in, trying to minimize their problems. “Now with that over with, how about we do something later tonight when you’re off work?”
“That’s not it Marina.” He recalled his earlier confrontation with Ryan. “Your ex. boyfriend came to visit me earlier and I have to tell you Marina, I didn’t like a lot of things that he told me. But really, did you have to tell him about giving the puppy away before you told me?”
Marina pulled away. “I don’t understand this stupid obsession with the dog!”
“This has nothing to do with the dog anymore.” Ian sighed, he couldn’t understand why Marina would confide in Ryan. The man was out to break the two of them up and Ian was beyond pissed. “Ryan obviously wanted to get my riled up or he wouldn’t have dropped by.”
“What happened?”
“I punched him.” Ian said, matter-of-fact. “Quite honestly Marina, he had it coming to him. I have spent months letting the two of you get closer together because you wanted to be friends again but this has to stop. I don’t want to be the jealous boyfriend but you are telling him things that you’re afraid to tell me.”
“I didn’t think you would understand.”
Ian shook his head in disappointment. “You never gave me the opportunity to.”
“I’m sorry.” She spoke, realizing that Ian was only scared to lose her. Marina sighed, “It won’t happen again Ian. I only love you and I don’t want to ruin this good thing between us.”
“No more secrets.”
Marina shook her head. “I promise.”

Scene Eight:
Stone Creek; Now Town
HEAT Magazine Headquarters; 2nd Floor
“Oh my god, Natalie!” Amanda Tucker called as she entered the room. They had been looking for her when she didn’t show up for the photo shoot and only got the idea to check around the building when a security guard told them he had seen her wandering around.
Amanda landed on her knee’s beside Natalie and wrapped her arms around her. “What happened?” Although it was pretty clear that Natalie must have freaked out about something with all the broken glass around them. Amanda looked around the room, then up at Helen Schmidt who stood in the doorway with folded arms.
“He did it.” Natalie spat, still in a haze.
Both women looked at Natalie, hanging onto every word she said. “Oliver did this to me, he told me to come here!”
“That’s nonsense!” Helen blurted, she walked into the room. The sound of glass breaking underneath her heels caused Natalie to wince. “Oliver Cuthbert couldn’t have done this Natalie. I made sure he personally left town yesterday, I saw him to a plane.”
Natalie looked up at Helen.
“I was worried that he might do something stupid to harm anyone in this building.” Helen turned her head to the broken glass. “I don’t know what went on here Natalie, I just need you to get your ass off that floor so that we can finish the photo shoot.”
“Obviously she needs time.” Amanda spoke up.
But Helen silenced her. “Go back to your dressing room Amanda.”
“But Mrs-”
“I liked you better when you were just the anorexic bimbo model.” Helen seethed. “Why’d you go and develop a caring personality?”
With that, Amanda got up off her knees and rubbed Natalie’s shoulder one more time before leaving the two women alone in the room.
This gave Helen time to bend down, if only slightly, to Natalie’s level and catch the younger woman’s gaze. “I need you to get up Natalie, we have too much work to do today. Get up and dust this whole thing off and then we can start the photo shoot.”
“Are you sure Oliver didn’t do this?”
“Positive.” Helen replied. “Natalie, you need to make me not regret giving you this promotion. Nobody listens to a photographer who can’t even keep her emotions together. What? Are you afraid of your damned burns? We all have our weakness’ we just choose to hide them from everyone.”
Natalie looked away. “You might not be able to hide the burns, but you can hide the pain they cause you when others stare at them. Now come on, get up and show these idiots that you are stronger than they are. Either that, or walk out of this building and never come back.”

Scene Nine:
Stone Creek; Now Town
Stone Creek Memorial Hospital; Outside Miles Fowler’s ICU Room
Happy that she was able to help Aidan Jurado find the Condo that he wanted, Greta Wilkinson planned to spend the rest of her day at the hospital by Miles’ side. She had finally conquered being able to sit alone with him and just talk without having someone else present.
Greta found it a little more relaxing that way, actually.
But as she approached his room, Greta slowed her walking pace down to a complete stop. Standing at his window was Cassie Lakhani. The younger girl seemed to be having doubts about visiting Miles as she lingered around the room but never made an effort to go in.
So Greta thought she would go talk to Cassie, see if she could help. “He likes visitors you know. I’m sure he’d really like to see you Cassie.”
Cassie turned and with a cautious smile, watched Greta approach her.
“My mother told me that even though Miles is in a coma he can still hear your voice and feel your presence. It’s like if you closed your eyes and laid down on a bed.” Greta looked into the room, she smiled sweetly at her fiance laying in the bed. “He just won’t wake up.”
“Have you heard?”
“Heard what?” Greta asked, keeping her eyes on Miles.
Cassie gulped. “They found out who shot Miles and I.”
Greta’s gaze found its way to Cassie, which made the younger woman even more nervous. “My father told me a couple days ago. He said that you’ve been by the police station a couple times to identify the man as your brother, Callum? You must be going through a hard time.”
“I am.” Cassie acknowledged.
“Having to testify against your own brother, I’m truly sorry for that Cassie.”
Cassie shook her head. “I’m not testifying against Callum.”
“You have to.” Greta forced. “That man shot you!”
But Cassie wasn’t having it, she shook her head. Walked past Greta and headed towards Miles’ room, but Greta blocked the way. “That man put Miles in a coma Cassie. I’m sorry that he happens to be your brother, but he needs to pay for what he did.”
“What if that was Bentley!”
“It wasn’t.” Greta stood, matter-of-fact. “Bentley would never be crazy enough to do something like that.”
“Screw you!” Cassie spat, she pushed past Greta and opened Miles’ door. She had to see her old friend, she had to ask him if she was making the right decision. Clearly he would understand since Callum was his best friend. “Just stay away from me Greta.”
“No!” Greta barked, grabbing Cassie’s arm and spinning her around. The door to Miles’ room flung open in the process. “You stay away from Miles you god damned crazy bitch! Who are you to try and play god with this whole situation. Callum deserves what he gets.”
Cassie’s shoulders fell, which gave Greta the perfect view to see it happen. Everything went into slow motion, even the apology that trinkled out of Cassie’s mouth. All Greta was focused on was the fact that Miles’ eyes fluttered open. “Move.”
She shoved Cassie to the side. “Miles! Oh god, nurse!”
“What’s going on?” Cassie asked from the doorway.
Greta turned to Cassie. “He’s waking up, go get a damned nurse!”
“Miles?” Greta asked turning back to her fiance. He slowly turned his head towards her and although his eyes were too heavy to hold up he smiled, sloppily.

Scene Ten:
980 Cutler St., Stone [Creek. Faustino Cottages # 10]
Natalie & Amanda’s Cottage
Aidan appeared from the bathroom in his briefs and walked over to Amanda’s bed. “So I’ve been thinking, after the day I had. I was wondering if you had given any thought of moving in with me?”
He stepped into the bed and scooped Amanda’s nearly naked body into his arms and kissed her forehead lightly. After spending most of the day with Greta Wilkinson and looking at Condo’s, Aidan was happy that he finally found one to call his own.
Now he just needed Amanda to agree to move in with him.
“Greta helped me find a place already.” He spoke, with excitement. “I think you’ll love it, the second story overlooks the Living Room and Kitchen. It is spacious enough for the both of us and at night, we can sit out on the Balcony and just dream the night away.”
Amanda giggled when Aidan nibbled on her neck.
Which usually meant he was ready for another round of sex, but tonight she brushed him off. “I’ve been thinking about it Aidan, I really have.”
“But?”
She shrugged. “I can’t leave Natalie alone right now. I told you about how she freaked out at work, I really think her burns effect her more than she lets on. She’s petrified of Oliver Cuthbert.”
“You said that Oliver already left town.” Aidan spoke, he began nibbling on Amanda’s shoulder.
“He did.” Amanda moved around so that she could lean against Aidan who was now leaning against the headboard. “Just because I can’t move in right now, doesn’t mean that I don’t want to in the future, Aidan. I just don’t think right now is the right time to do it.”

Scene Eleven:
420 N. Dayton St., Stone Creek. [Saunders Home]
Adrian, Gail & Violet’s Home
His daughter, Gail, was in the Kitchen getting dinner prepared. The fact that his family was together made David feel a whole lot better. Made him think less about the divorce, he sighed. “Do you need any help in there honey?”
“I’m fine daddy,” Gail poked her head out and smiled once she saw her father with Violet in his arms. “Adrian said he was on his way home from work already, he picked up a couple of steaks for tonight so we can have a real feast. You have to try Adrian’s steaks.”
“You don’t have to do this for me.”
“I’m not.” Gail smirked. “We’re doing this for all of us. I know how much you loved Helen, even if I hated her. Adrian and I want to make you dinner to remind you that you still have your family. No matter what happens with Helen, you still have us.”
Gail walked back into the Kitchen.
“You are amazing, darling.” David spoke, walking into the Kitchen with his granddaughter in his arms. He rubbed his daughter’s shoulder and kissed her forehead. “I am so proud of the woman you have become. Overcoming what you have and starting a beautiful family. I love you Gail.”
She smiled. “I love you too daddy!”
“I’m home!” Adrian Stone called from the front door, they could hear the man shuffling through the house and then final enter the Kitchen. “Looks like the party has started without me? How’s it going Mr. Schmidt?”
David turned around, shaking Adrian’s hand. “Call me David.”
“Alright.” Adrian smirked, he placed the steaks on the counter and dropped the beers he had bought onto the counter. “Well how about I get these steaks ready for dinner? Care to join me David? I brought us a couple beers for the wait.” He kissed Violet’s cheek.
“Here, let me take Violet.” Gail replied, taking the little girl from David.
His phone started ringing before he had the chance to follow Adrian to the grill, looking at it, he noticed that Helen was trying to get a hold of him. There was a part of David that wanted to answer it and invite Helen over, but he couldn’t. She had ruined so much in his life.
Instead he sent it to voicemail.

Scene Twelve:
Stone Creek; Now Town
Stone Creek Memorial Hospital; Outside Miles Fowler’s ICU Room
“I still want to run a couple tests on him Greta.” Daphne Wilkinson spoke, she rubbed her daughter’s shoulder and looked back towards Miles Fowler’s room. “So he will be here in the hospital for a couple more days, just to be sure that Miles’ is alright.”
Greta shook her head. “Okay, alright. Does that mean he won’t go back into a coma? Do you think things have changed? I read somewhere that sometimes when people wake up they are different people. Mother, I just want Miles back.”
Daphne could see the fear in her daughter’s eyes, but there wasn’t much she could do to calm her down. “I have to run tests to see how his body is doing, he will be weak for awhile just because he was in a coma for awhile. But everything seems to be alright.”
“Can I see him?”
“Of course.” She led Greta to the room. “Go ahead, I’m sure he would love to see you. Just remember he is going to be a little drowsy, maybe antsy. Well, I don’t really know. But if you see anything wrong with Miles, just page me alright?”
Greta nodded her head, she watched her mother leave her side and then turned back to Miles’ room. How could he be awake now? It seemed like Greta had prepared to be visiting the hospital for the rest of her life, waiting for Miles to wake up.
But he was now awake. She bit her lip and entered the room.
“Greta.” Miles mumbled, he tried to sit up but she helped him back down. “How are you?”
“I should be asking you that.” Greta chuckled, tears in her eyes. “I should be asking how you’re feeling. You were the one that was in a coma. I was so scared for you Miles, I didn’t know what to do.”
He smiled. “I’m fine.”
“I made a mistake.” Greta spoke, alerting Miles. “I told you that I’d let you propose to me and then when you did I turned you down. Miles, I made a mistake. After everything that happened with you and Cassie-”
“What happened to Cassie?”
Greta gulped, nervously. “She was shot right after you were. Cassie heard the gunshots and stumbled onto the scene, so the gunman shot her as well. But she is alright, the bullets didn’t hit any major organs. We were all worried about you Miles.”
“I’m fine.”
“I want to marry you.” Greta spoke, getting Miles to smile once again. “I want to be with you forever.”
