History
Shannon Emma Lynn Thurlow was the miracle child, born on September 15th, 1967 to Henry and Anita Thurlow. Upon getting attacked by a man named Benjamin Lyons, Anita was rushed to the hospital so they could save both her life -- and her unborn child, Shannon. Although Benjamin was later cornered and killed by Henry and his sister-in-law, Miranda Porter, and both mother and daughter lived to see another day the family was rocked by the death of her older brother, Emmet Thurlow. Anita would become very protective of Shannon and often made sure that James Thurlow took care of his baby sister the same way she did.
Growing up in the Thurlow family, she was very sheltered from the outside world and spent much time with her mother in the house or her father in the office. Shannon would later grow-up to welcome the family business as her future, unlike her brother James. Mostly home-schooled she didn’t see much of the other children, but because her family had always been close to the Wilkinson’s her only friends would be Gideon and Isabelle. By the time she was ready to start High School, the often shy and curious Shannon Thurlow was becoming a young adult and caught the eye of her brother’s best friend, Gideon. Their relationship would only go as far as a flirtation, however, once Isabelle introduced Shannon to the football quarterback -- Patrick Sutton. Young love soon blossomed and her status amongst the popular kids skyrocketed when Isabelle helped Shannon join the cheerleading team as well. The sheltered little girl was finally becoming her own woman in the halls of Stone Creek High.
It wasn’t until Patrick Sutton began pressuring Shannon into having sex with him did problems arise. Isabelle often intervened and insisted that Shannon not fall into the pressures. James Thurlow saw the animosity between Shannon and Patrick and began to threaten the quarterback into leaving Shannon alone. But Patrick wouldn’t do so and finally convinced Shannon to go all the way -- while he secretly recorded them. It was 1982 when Shannon’s popularity made her one of the untouchables at school, Isabelle had graduated already and come down for a party at Patrick’s parents home -- the Holly Oak Manor -- and helped Shannon escape the careful eye of her older brother. Once the two girls made it to the party however the found themselves, amongst everyone else in school watching the videotape that Patrick made of the two having sex. Devastated, Shannon broke things off with him and with the help of Isabelle and Diem, they got Patrick expelled from Stone Creek High and shipped off to a boarding school.
By the time Shannon was a junior in High School she had met a really sweet boy named Peter Andrews. The two of them hit it off really well and began making plans for a future together and although he was exactly one of the popular kids in school, Shannon didn’t care. Not long after the two started dating, Peter went missing and Shannon became really worried for him. He re-appeared with bruises on his arm and a busted lip, but lied to Shannon and told her he was mugged. The truth was that his step-father began to beat Peter when he became intoxicated. Her school work started becoming affected when her boyfriend once again started to skip school and when Shannon found out the truth she asked her father to intervene with the Police Chief, Grady Wilkinson. Peter later ended up in the Hospital and his step-father was arrested and sent to jail. the ridiculing from their peers sent Peter into a depression and he dropped out of school, later revealing that he needed to help his mother pay the bills since her husband was now in jail. Although her schedule was busy with school and extra-curricular activities, Shannon tried to stay by Peter’s side. It wasn’t easy, when his step-father was released from jail, his mother took him back and Peter was now on the streets. Henry and Anita allowed the young man into their home on one condition, he had to go back to school. Peter had to repeat his junior year while Shannon started her senior year.
Shannon was on-track to graduate early and even earned herself a summer internship at Thurlow Lumber Mill Enterprises, which she made sure her father didn’t give her any special privileges. Peter was beginning to feel left out and once graduation time rolled around Shannon insisted she stay in Stone Creek and attend the Community College. This angered Peter, who didn’t want to hold her back, so he broke-up with Shannon and disappeared once again -- leaving her heartbroken and on her way to Cuttlebone University to earn a Business Marketing Degree.
Although Shannon was pursued by many men, she never quite got over Peter. In 1986, while returning to Stone Creek, she heard the news of Peter’s death in Cuttlebone City. Depressed and upset, she later found out that he had never really left her side and found a place in the city where she went to University.
She would return to the family company and Stone Creek later that year and took a position with the Marketing Team, insisting that she earn her spot amongst her peers. Shannon worked day and night and eventually became the Advertising Advisor for Thurlow Lumber Mill Enterprises. She would later meet her future husband, Mathias Jurado, in 1986 while her father took interest in Mathias much smaller company in Paris. Although they married in 1989, Shannon gave birth to their first son -- Aidan Elliot Jurado -- in 1989. Shannon moved to Paris, France to look over the Thurlow-Jurado Overseas project with her husband and they later gave birth to a baby girl that they named Imogene Lilliana Jurado.
Start of the Series...
In 2011 the brief appearance of Shannon in Patrick and James’ dreams alerted them to her death overseas. After they arrived in Paris for her funeral it was revealed that Shannon’s death wasn’t an accident. Edward Rayburn killed her in an attempt to steal rare diamonds that Shannon was locating.
