History
Born on April 25th, 1986 to Caitlyn Lavern Crenshaw and Damien Crenshaw, her original name was Danielle Crenshaw and she lived with the Crenshaw family until 1993. She was then adopted by John and Trudy Roscoe and renamed Emily Michelle Roscoe. Her life with the Roscoe family wasn’t the most glamorous life, partially because of her father’s absence. They never hid the fact that Emily was adopted. Trudy grew sick and succumbed to cancer when Emily was a young girl. Not much is known about her childhood, except that she couldn’t complain. After Trudy had died, John was emotionally unavailable to the young girl and Emily struggled socially at school.

She would eventually move out on her own and get a job as a waitress at Jumping Sally’s Bar & Grill in Chicago, Illinois, unknown to Emily she lived close to her birth parents.

Start of the Series...

photo Emilyv1.pngIn 2010, Emily Roscoe, secured a job as a secretary for James Thurlow at Thurlow Lumber Mill Enterprises but because of a car accident on her way into Stone Creek, she was presumed missing. Emily developed a close friendship with the doctor who treated her after the accident, Dr. David Schmidt became like a father figure to Emily. He would later admit to Emily that James wasn’t a bad man and wouldn’t fire Emily. She found it hard adjusting to her new life in Stone Creek, she befriended the eccentric Lucy Hahn and eventually began to flirt with Bentley Wilkinson. Although she didn’t know it at the time, Bentley had been carrying out a friends with benefits relationship with Lucy, but he dropped her once he found interest in Emily. He asked Emily on a date, but stood her up. It took him awhile, but he was able to romance Emily and they developed into a relationship.

One winter night, while Emily was waiting for Bentley to pick her up from work her boss, James, offered to give her a ride to the bar where he knew the young adults would be. James explained his connection to Bentley and insisted that he was a good kid. Before the made it to the bar, however, another car swerved into their lane and James skidded off the road to avoid the car. They crashed, but were quick to realize that they were in less trouble than the people in the bar that the other car crashed into. Bentley being one of them. It took them awhile to find Bentley in the rubble, but he survived the incident and spent a couple weeks in a wheelchair while Emily wore a cast on her arm.

In October 2011 the both confessed their love for one another and Bentley began to help Emily cope with her fear of driving, this bonded the two even more. Eventually Bentley would ask Emily to marry him and she accepted the proposal, although she had her reservations which mainly dealt with her family life back in Chicago. Emily wasn’t sure if she would fit into the Wilkinson’s huge family as she hardly had one of her own. Dr. David Schmidt insisted that Emily was only scared and that the Wilkinson family would love her. Because of their bond, Emily trusted everything that David had told her and admitted that she cared deeply for Bentley. They planned to marry in 2012. Without much thought, they agreed to share a wedding day with Bentley’s sister Greta and her boyfriend, Miles Fowler.

Because of her upcoming nuptials to Bentley, Emily, had felt that finding out who her birth parents were would help her come to terms with her decisions. So with Bentley’s help they enlisted Diem Joplin to help track them down. Emily had a bracelet with the initials; D.C on them. However, during the New Years Eve ball their plans were sidetracked when Miles Fowler was gunned down and left for dead. Their wedding plans put on hold, Emily feared what would happen if she had ever lost Bentley. In 2012, Diem uncovered a shocking theory... decoding the initials on the bracelet she determined that Emily Roscoe was really Danielle Crenshaw, the child that Caitlyn Thurlow had originally thought to have died. They made their way down to Stone Creek Memorial Hospital for a DNA test so they could prove this theory accurate. Emily was too nervous to think straight, while Caitlyn didn’t want to believe the truth until the tests came back. Especially after the fact that she had thought she found Danielle once before.

That night the town experienced a power outage that left the technician’s unable to continue the DNA tests until the power came back on. So, with David’s insistence, Bentley took his fiance back to their apartment to relax for the night. When he was sure that Emily was relaxed and safe he went to see his family at the Wilkinson home and explained that they wouldn’t be having a celebration that night because of the blackout. That night Emily toyed with the idea of being Caitlyn Thurlow and Damien Crenshaw’s daughter, but she would never know the truth as after a shower she stumbled upon an unknown intruder who attacked her. Emily was found by Bentley, she lost a lot of blood and admitted that the assailant had came to kill Bentley but found Emily instead.

After her funeral, Bentley entered a depression and only allowed her grandmother in. Everyone that cared about Emily felt a huge absence in their hearts, while Caitlyn and Damien, were left to mourn Emily. John Roscoe came to Stone Creek to pay respect to his adoptive daughter.
