History
In order to save his father’s company from bankruptcy, Mathias Jurado, had a chance encounter with James Thurlow in 1985 and partnered up. Thurlow Lumber Mill Enterprises absorbed everything that Jurado Steel owned and created the sibling company, Thurlow-Jurado Overseas. Mathias began traveling back-and-forth between Stone Creek and Paris, France and began a romance with James’ younger sister, Shannon Thurlow. The two eventually married in 1988 and welcomed their first child on October 20th, 1989.
With Shannon’s help, they were at the forefront of breaking edge in Paris, France and shared success with their new company. On June 7th, 1992 Shannon gave birth to their second child, a daughter, they named her Imogene Lilliana Jurado and spent that summer in Stone Creek with her family by their side. They would later return to Stone Creek in 2001 after Shannon’s father passed away and while there they helped Anita Thurlow as she decided to move back to Paris with the two and their small family. Mathias hired Anita on as a Creative Consultant.
Start of the Series...
Mathias grew stern in the way he raised his family and spent many days and nights at the office. In 2011, the greatest tragedy took place, Shannon Thurlow Jurado lost her life in a car accident. As the family gathered in Paris to say goodbye to Shannon, it was revealed that her death wasn’t an accident. Eventually being uncovered that Shannon had been in possession of rare diamonds that she wanted to make a profit out of. A man named Edward Rayburn had conned Aidan into forging his mother’s signature so that he could steal the diamonds, shortly after Shannon’s car was tampered with leading to her death. Infuriated, Mathias relieved Aidan of his duties at Thurlow-Jurado Overseas and went to seek out Edward. Edward Rayburn was found dead in his apartment of an apparent suicide.
Before James left back to Stone Creek he informed both his mother and Mathias that they were to resume as Co-CEO’s of Thurlow-Jurado Overseas and bring the company back to it’s roots.
