She took notice of the little boy that accompanied Iris and smiled, warmly. “I didn’t know you had a child with you? Emmet has never mentioned you having a child of your own, what’s his name?”
“He belongs to a friend of hers.” Caitlyn jumps in, she brings Megan closer to her as she plays with the little girl’s hair, hoping that Deborah doesn’t ask anymore questions. Caitlyn knew who the child belonged to, it was only a process of elimination and because he looked so much like a Nelson, she wanted the conversation squashed.
Deborah smiled, letting the conversation drop. “It is nice meeting you, properly.”
“The same to you.” Iris responded, taking Sebastian with her and excusing herself from the women. They watched as she walked off, Caitlyn knowing that they had just dodged a huge bullet. Especially if they were to get to the bottom of why Lucy is in town and what she wanted with Frank.
“I was on the phone with your step-daughter, Marina.” Deborah spoke, killing the tension between the two women. “She wants me to start counseling her friend Cassie. That poor girl has been through so much in the last two years, it is about time she turned to therapy.”
Caitlyn smirked. “Well, I’m glad she is coming to you.”
“Yeah,” Deborah trailed off, turning back to the direction Iris left in. “She seemed a bit frazzled, Emmet’s fiance; and that child, I can’t brush off the fact that I’ve seen him before.” Deborah turned back to Caitlyn, with a solemn face. “He has Frank’s eyes.”
