“You need to stop coming over like this.” Catalina Cortez spoke in a hoarse voice, she let the man in and then continued getting ready for her day. It had been weeks since her sister’s funeral and she really didn’t have the time to have Mac asking questions.
“They started the rebuilding of Jimmy’s Bar.” Mac Kern announced, dropping his messenger bag off by the side of the couch. He watched as Catalina re-appeared in the living room clad in her bra. She pulled a white blouse over her body and started buttoning it up.
Looking up at Mac, Catalina shrugged. “It’s not like we didn’t expect this day would happen. People move on, life goes forward. We can’t live in the past Mac, there isn’t anything we can do.”
