Kirsten can’t help but watch her little girl. Ever since her father told her about the accident Kirsten kept Megan Sutton in her sights at all times. The things that went through her head were just too much to make a reality.
“How are you awake right now?” Charlie Sutton asked as he approached his wife. Dressed in pajama bottoms and slippers, Charlie hugged Kirsten from behind. “She is asleep right now, nobody can get to her.”
Kirsten kissed Charlie’s cheek. “I know.” Although she knew he was right, Kirsten stood by the doorframe and watched Megan sleep. “She is just so little and innocent. I don’t ever want that to be taken away from her.”
She didn’t want Megan to have to face the hard cold truth of reality the same way that Kirsten Sutton had to when her mother, Helen Schmidt stole her trust-fund to finance her magazine, HEAT.
