If he could burn through to the back of Kevin’s head, Charlene Sutton knew her husband would. So she found herself between the two men, which then made her feel uncomfortable. Immediately all the confidence she found herself gaining was wiped away.

After much thought, Patrick finally broke from his glare. “This is what I want to happen. I cannot afford to lose Kevin since he is the most powerful legal consultant in this city and quite frankly, the only person I trust.” He stopped and looked at his wife. “Ironically.”

Charlene looked away, sheepishly.

“So from here on out things need to end between you two. This campaign is the only thing that matters right now. If I become mayor of Stone Creek then I get ultimate power in this city and that means, for my dear wife, you can have your seat on the city council like you’ve always wanted.”
